I am Ananda - the photographer for adventurista brides.
I feel most alive while riding rickshaws in Indian monsoons, parasailing in Malaysia, navigating the wild streets of Naples, being endlessly lost in Venice, diving into the Mediterranean after an exhausting & gritty train ride, accidentally ending up on a freeway in Uruguay - in a golf cart. Being chased by a monkey in Costa Rica (and in Bangalore), eating Toblerone atop a mountain in Switzerland, sliding down a mountainside in Alaska and paragliding (with a bride and groom) over the hills in Washington, riding a double-decker bus along narrow switchbacks over the Andes in the middle of the night. Camera in hand.
I am the photographer for brides who race uninhibitedly toward what makes their hearts pound.
I am based in Alameda, Calif., but happily travel to photograph weddings across the globe. Weddings have taken me to Costa Rica, the Bahamas, Minnesota, Washington, Maryland, Virginia and all over California.
Background:
After years of working as a reporter in the Southwest, I went to Madrid to study documentary photography. It was there that I learned life is about living in the moment -- enjoy them before they disappear. Moments ARE fleeting and I absolutely desire nothing more but to capture them with my camera. I received a master's degree in photography from Escuela de Fotografia Centro de Imagen in 2006. Now I work as a wedding photographer in the Bay Area. I have spent years documenting peoples' experiences across the United States and around the world. My professional experiences working as a journalist combined with my photography background enable me to predict the unpredictable and weave together incredible stories that include details many overlook.
Family Life:
While not clicking away, I am wrangling 4-year-old Beckett, 2-year-old Scarlett. Or enjoying a bold red wine with my husband, Danny, while reminiscing about the adventures we have had and the adventures yet to come ... once the kids are a little bit older. In the meantime, we spend a lot of time at different parks and hanging out with our kitties Taz and Feist.
